My role so far
No our plan of action is to start our promo from scratch and to do it correctly and more officient by planning step by step what we are going to do and what footage we will use. so hopefully making the new promo we will make it short snappy and make sure all question will be asked and awnsered and have nothing left hanging

Bournmouth Feedback
they then told us how we could go about improving showing us technices and ideas to be able to make our video look more structure and alot more sleek and cool
looking back at this its was well needed feedback and I feel I as an editor has matured and seen the bigger picture ive now started to notice more error and what a good shot and what not. I now know its best to think about each shot your going to use and only use the bit you want and not put in bad footage just for the hell of it as its a waste of time and just pointless.
promo adverts
this is the O2 Prority ticket advert the promo is very simple as it open with prone shots of the dressing room then when the doors open it start to track with the stars. the idea of the promo is to show off all the big star that perform at the O2 and who you could possibly see at the O2
this was a promo that the sturent at Bournmouth showed us as she felt it would help us understand what we needed to do and it did.
We saw how simple is alot more effective and just to think about what we are doing from our rushed and randomly edited promo. Which need to have some meaning and so kind of narative to get the story across much more esaier
we then felt that the simple you keep it the better it looks. we new the first show has to draw the audience in and with the O2 advert they have gone with an iconic image with the dressing room because we can recognise what it is. with ours we went a shot that was going to make have alot of enrgey in the first shot and with our first shot it works with the soundtrack. the O2 promotes the stars that they have thats the wow factor. Our wow factor is the show the expirence of what you could do if you applied to the Junction Fiver

feedback of rough cut
-Live footage of The Fiver
-What the requirements are for getting in
-What you get if your band is accepted
-How to apply
-It must look contemporary
-Appealing to the 14 – 17 age group
-Supply all the relevant information
-Good use of the bands, drops me straight into the evening
-Does not show entry requirements
-Mentions financial incentives but not the opportunities of working on large stage with sound and techs - would be great to include this in the final cut
-Left me slightly confused
-Looks modern
-Great editing and speed
-Yes but does not include too much of the younger band(s)
-Unsure the ticker tape is clear enough, moves too quickly, unclear
this is helpful as our client seem to like the consept and idea of the promo so we can go back to the promo and tighten up the editing and finish putting all the information and awnsering all the question also to make sure it simple for the veiwer to understand how to apply
Feedback from class mates
-text effect great Idea but think about using a diffrent font maybe
-Maybe more footage of what the bands throught of there expirence
-Overall quite good and effective but needs a 'WOW'factor
from this we dono how to put in much more of a 'WOW' factor as ouir idea for the wow factor is the editing and the footage of the band do a good performance.
Promo Video rough cut
Junction Promo B rough from cmdiploma on Vimeo.
This is the rough cut of our promo video that me, Sam and Ash made.
with the video we wanted to start the promo with a good live performance as it would catch the viewers attention. We then based the promo around a live performance music video, as people enjoy seeing a good live performance and they may imagine them doing it or think they could do it better. we then started to put in question but we relised to late that the junction asked us to use there font to make it more professional. also the questions were placed in the wrong places to appear when they shouldn't after the first section that is all Operation FM the promo picks up passe and mixes through most of the band. so we feel that a big improvement is to reduce the opening scene and jump in to the mash up sooner also improve witht he interviews as some of the sound levels were off and some you couldn't hear very well. also the scrolling information was to fast and unreadable also there a blank bit at the end before the last shot were we didn't have enough time to put in any footage.
so the main improvments we feel we need is to change the text keep consistantsy witht he speed of the promo from the word go. and make sure all the text and information that is needed is in the right place and is easy to read.
Editing
Are you In a Band?
Are you and your band between the age of 14-15?
Are you wanting a chance to play to a crowd of 600?
Do you want to get expirence working with Proffeconal sound and light teams?
we then have interview with bands and staff with all contact details for people to get in touch.
Filmming the Fiver
I was suppose to atend and take Still with an SLR camera but there wasn't one around on the night. but the other class mates took 4 semi-pro HD Camera with tri-pods.

we use this video as its a good reprsentive of how the live footage is going to be use and that the atmospere we want to create with the opening scens of the promo.
in the 1st minute of this video we are intrested to get some of the crowd in the promo to show the size of the crowd like the in the opeing cuts of this video show aswell as teh cuts in the live performance.
we use this vidoe to show how we would want the area to interview our band and staff member to get a feel of what the interview is about aswell as using the beasic interveiw techines

Promo video Examples
this is a promo video for Glasgow Caledonian Univirsaty the promo is trying to perswade possible students to come to this university
this promo is very simple but very long it trys to explain and inpress the veiwer by the facts and the look of the Univirsity. I feel that the Promo is hard to watch without getting bored as it hasn't got anything that much 'wow' to it I needed just to have more energy to it because that what there trying to atract young adults leaving 6th form or college going into higher eduaction. they also make it look foraml and serious.
Unlike our were we went for energy out video has told the veiw what they need to know even before the narrator of the Uni promo has even got started about why you should come to the Uni. As our promo is for a much younger audience then the Glasogow Univertisys one it best to look at the opposite of what you aim for as you then know what not to do.

1st meeting with Partner
Simon then went on baout the importance of the Core Product as this is the base of a product and if it donsen't have the requerments needed it become use less. He went on to say about wow factor usally takes over. with the length of the promo video Simon didn't want it more then 3-4minites long but I feel a promo shouldn't be more then 3. Simon wants the Documenrty to be no longer then 9-10minites long
he left us to start to think of pitchs and question to ask him and other member of staff at the junction
